6 and 12 May 2018:
Join us on a visit to a Luxembourgish Cidery! A Cidery (which is an unusual word) is to Cider as a Brewery is to Beer.
The British Luxembourg Society is offering two visits, one on Sunday May 6th and the other on Saturday May 12th. The Cidery describe themselves as follows:
“Ramborn is the first Luxembourgish cider producer. We only ferment the freshly pressed juice of apples and pears grown exclusively in traditional orchards of large, standard trees. No concentrate. No industrial plantations.”
More information about the Cidery can be obtained on https://ramborn.com/en
Visits would start at 10.30 am and take about 90 minutes including a film, historical explanations about the farm, the philosophy of Ramborn, explanations about the production of the different ciders and perry. At the end comes a tasting of them! You can obtain more information on https://ramborn.com/en
Following the tour we can have lunch at their restaurant “Op der Terrass” in Born. The restaurant has an A La Carte menu – cider and perry from the Ramborn Cidery is available of course!
The address of the Cidery is 23, Duerfstrooss, L-6660 Born
Please e-mail Chris Atkinson advising which date you wish to go and whether you will be having lunch so that we may make reservations.
Cost of the guided tour is EUR 10 (ten) to the British Luxembourg Society LU38 0019 5155 3387 2000 Reference: “name of participant(s) 6 or 12 May, Cidery”
