The Royal Air Force (RAF) was formed towards the end of the First World War on 1 April 1918 and is the oldest independent air force in the world. The Pathfinder Force of RAF Bomber Command was a target-making squadron operating during World War Two. Tim Dutton will talk about the background to the force and will describe two life changing events in Luxembourg. The crash of a Pathfinder bomber at Koerich and leading thousands of bombers over Luxembourg, audible to the population below to reassure them that the Allies were still engaged in the fight against the Nazis. Tim is a fascinating and popular speaker in the UK on the Pathfinder Force.
