A Tribute to H.R.H. the Grand Duke Jean
H.R.H. the Grand Duke Jean was a symbol of the strong bond between Luxembourg and the United Kingdom. Educated at Ampleforth College in Yorkshire, he served in the Irish Guards during the Second World War, participating in the liberation of the Grand Duchy. His Royal Highness also served as Patron of the BLS’s annual Sir Winston Churchill Memorial Lecture.
“H.R.H. the Grand Duke Jean was the very epitome of the bond between the two nations,” said Michael-James Clifton, Council Member of the British-Luxembourg Society. “We hope that the Award in honour and memory of H.R.H. the Grand Duke Jean will maximise the Award’s recognition and strengthen British-Luxembourgish ties long into the future.“
