We invite you to join us in a private curator led tour of the exhibition “Luxembourg 20th Century Art”, this is an exciting opportunity to have an in depth view of notable Luxembourg artists.
The exhibition presents a selection of Luxembourg art from the classical modern period to the turn of the millennium, including many recent acquisitions and donations.
The period before 1945 is represented by the ‘secessionists’ Kutter, Rabinger, Schaack and Klopp, as well as by Ernest Wurth and Adrienne Baudoin-d’Huart. Paintings by Henri Dillenburg and Nico Thurm, several series of images by Wil Lofy, the collages of Roger Bertemes and the sculptures of Pit Nicolas then bear witness to artistic creation oscillating between figuration and abstraction. From the 1950s/60s onwards, artistic creation became increasingly female (Jacqueline Hentges, Coryse Kieffer, Triny Beckius). From the 1990s to the early 2000s, visitors can admire paintings and graphic works by Moritz Ney, Marie-Paule Feiereisen, Annette Weiwers-Probst and Renée Oberlinkels, as well as a sculpture by Bettina Scholl-Sabbatini.
