We are delighted to announce a new tour in our series “Hidden Luxembourg”

This is an opportunity to visit some lesser-known parts of the city.  Our guide Patrick Schaul, Deputy Chief Guide FFGL (Friends of the Fortress History Luxembourg /Frënn van der Festungsgeschicht Lëtzebuerg)  and friend of the BLS will lead this  new tour which will introduce you to lesser known and visited parts of the Casemates.

Meeting point

9h.45 in front of Gallerie La Fayette , Boulevard Royal, Parking Royal Hamilius

Duration approximately 2 hrs.

The itinerary will include

Exceptionally the tour will visit a small, but very interesting, casemate inside the lower level of Bastion Marie (under Boulevard Royal) and in fact the oldest underground part of the city built in 1545 by the Spaniards. The tour will continue with a visit to the French built Fort Lambert, built in 1685.

The tour is only open to members of the BLS and strictly for those aged 18+

Please note the tour has stairs and uneven surfaces, so it is not suitable for people with reduced mobility or who suffer claustrophobia .

We would ask you to :

-Please wear suitable footwear as the surfaces are uneven and there some stairs.

-Bring a working flashlight  or fully charged phone as the tunnels will be dark and only partially lit.

-Wear adequate clothing against humidity (ambient temperature 12C)

The cost of the tour includes insurance.

Please be aware that photographs may be taken throughout out the event.

Please note cancellations must be received in writing by email to events@b-l-s.lu no later than 14 days before the tour. Where no written cancellation is received,  we will regrettably have to charge you for the cost of the event.
